Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the backplate and non-backplate version?
Both versions use the same Baltimore cabinet pull handle. The difference is purely visual:
- Without backplate — the handle mounts directly onto the cabinet surface for a clean, minimal look. Best for contemporary, Scandi and minimalist cabinetry.
- With backplate — a matching decorative backplate frames the handle, conceals the fixing holes and adds a layered, more considered aesthetic. Best for Shaker, traditional or high-end joinery applications.

What is a cabinet pull handle?
A cabinet pull handle is a fixed grip mounted to a cabinet door or drawer front, used to open and close it by pulling. Unlike a door lever, it has no latch mechanism — it is purely a handling and decorative feature. Cabinet pulls are particularly useful on larger cabinet doors and drawers where a small knob would not provide enough grip.
Which size should I choose?
Choose based on the width of your cabinet door or drawer front — as a general rule, the handle should span roughly one third to one half of that measurement:
- 140mm (CTC 128mm) — small drawers, bathroom vanity drawers and compact cabinet doors
- 172mm (CTC 160mm) — standard drawers and narrow cabinet doors
- 268mm (CTC 256mm) — wide drawers and medium cabinet doors
- 332mm (CTC 320mm) — large cabinet doors and integrated appliance panels
- 460mm (CTC 448mm) — full-height pantry doors, wardrobe doors and statement cabinetry

How is it fixed to the cabinet?
The Baltimore cabinet pull is rear fixed — the bolts pass through from the back of the cabinet door or drawer front and thread into the handle from behind. This gives a clean front face with no visible screws. Two bolt lengths are supplied: M4 x 25mm for standard cabinet doors and M4 x 45mm for thicker panels. For the backplate version, the backplate sits flush on the front face concealing the fixing holes.
Can I use this on integrated appliance panels?
Yes, but for integrated appliance drawers, doors or larger cupboards we recommend adding a spring washer and stainless-steel screw for added durability due to the additional weight and frequency of use. These are not supplied with the handle — they are available from most hardware stores.
What material is the handle made from?
The Baltimore cabinet pull is crafted from solid brass. This gives it a substantial, premium feel and ensures it won't rust or corrode over time — unlike cheaper zinc-alloy alternatives. The solid brass core is then finished in your chosen surface treatment (e.g. Matt Black, Brushed Brass, Distressed Nickel).
What finishes are available?
The Baltimore cabinet pull is available in 9 finishes: Brushed Brass, Brushed Chrome, Brushed Gold, Distressed Nickel, Matt Black, Polished Brass, Polished Chrome, Satin Nickel and Signature Brass. Both the standard and backplate versions are available in all 9 finishes. If you're unsure which finish suits your cabinetry, contact us — we're happy to help.
Is it sold as a single handle or a pack?
The Baltimore cabinet pull is sold as a single handle. For a full kitchen or joinery project, order the quantity you need. Contact us if you're ordering in volume and we can assist.
Can I match the cabinet pull to the Baltimore lever and pull handle range?
Yes. The Baltimore cabinet pull is designed to complement the full Baltimore range including the lever handle and door pull handle. All share the same minimalist aesthetic and finish options — so you can create a fully coordinated look from your entrance door through to your kitchen cabinetry.
