What is the difference between Passage, Privacy, Entrance and Dummy door handles?

Passage sets are used for internal doors that don’t require locking.

Privacy sets include a turn snib for bathrooms and bedrooms.

Entrance sets are lockable sets for front or external doors.

Dummy sets are non-operational handles used on wardrobe or pantry doors.

Do you keep items in stock or are they ordered from suppliers?

Yes — we keep a wide range of door hardware, smart locks, handles, hinges, and accessories in stock at our Sydney warehouse and showroom.
However, because we offer thousands of SKUs across leading Australian hardware brands, some items are sourced directly from our local distributors when required

Can I pick up my order from the Prime Hardware showroom?

Yes! You can collect from our Sydney showroom/warehouse. Simply choose Pickup at checkout, and you’ll receive a confirmation when your order is ready.

What is your returns policy?

We offer 30-day returns on unused items in original packaging. Special-order and made-to-order products may not be returnable. A restocking fee 20%apply.

Prime Hardware does not install hardware, but we can recommend trusted locksmiths and carpenters in Sydney for smart locks, pull handles, and mortice locks.

Are your smart locks compatible with Australian doors?

Most of our smart locks fit standard Australian door thicknesses (35–50mm) and backsets (60–70mm). Product pages list detailed specifications, and our team can advise compatibility before you purchase.

What size door handle or pull handle do I need?

Pull handles range from 300mm to 1800mm depending on door height and usage.
We can help select sizes based on front doors, pivot doors, or wardrobe doors.

Can I return or exchange the wrong colour or size?
