KILARGO ANTIMICROBIAL BULB TYPE SILICONE COMPRESSION SEAL IS1007AMSI-50METRE

The Kilargo IS1007AMsi is an antimicrobial bulb-type silicone compression seal in a 50-metre roll, kerf-mounted into the rebates of timber door and window frames. The hollow silicone bulb compresses as the door closes, sealing clearances of 4–7mm against smoke, sound and draughts – with antimicrobial protection built into the silicone.

Key Features

Antimicrobial silicone inhibits bacteria and mould growth on the seal surface
Hollow bulb compresses to fill the door clearance – ideal smoke and acoustic seal
Kerf-mounts into a nominal 3mm kerf of sufficient depth in timber frames
Suits single-action doors and windows
Conforms with BCA Specification C3.4; acoustically tested
50-metre coil; grey or black (dark brown to special order)
Australian made

What It's Used For

The IS1007AMsi seals door and window rebates in hospitals, medical suites, aged care, laboratories and food facilities. The four bulb sizes (IS1005–IS1008) cover door clearances from 3mm to 8mm – this size suits 4–7mm gaps.

Press it into a 3mm kerf in the frame rebate and the bulb quietly cushions and seals every closing.

Compliance & What It Means

Antimicrobial silicone. The silicone is compounded with an antimicrobial additive that inhibits the growth of bacteria and mould on the gasket surface. This grade is specified for hygiene-critical environments — hospitals, aged care, medical suites, laboratories, commercial kitchens and food-preparation areas.
Smoke sealing — BCA/NCC Specification C3.4. Conforms with Building Code of Australia (NCC) Specification C3.4 smoke sealing requirements. Smoke — not flame — is the biggest killer in building fires, and C3.4 sets out how door gaps must be sealed so escape routes stay clear of smoke.
Acoustic tested — AS 1191 / ISO 140-3 / ISO 10140-2. Acoustically tested in accordance with AS 1191, ISO 140-3 and ISO 10140-2 — the laboratory standards for measuring sound insulation. Correctly sealed doors are the difference between a quiet room and a noisy one; this seal is proven to cut sound leakage through the door gaps.

Fire and smoke approvals apply to tested, proprietary door assemblies. Always confirm suitability for your specific door type and required rating with your fire door manufacturer or building certifier.

Ordering & dispatch. This is a non-stocked, specialty architectural item ordered directly from the Kilargo factory line. Please allow a standard handling time of 5–8 business days after cleared payment before dispatch. Need it sooner, or not sure which seal suits your door? Call Prime Hardware on 1800 329 028.
Which bulb size do I need?

Measure the clearance between the closed door and the frame rebate: IS1005AMsi suits 3-5mm, IS1006AMsi 3-6mm, IS1007AMsi 4-7mm and IS1008AMsi 5-8mm. This listing is the IS1007AMsi (4–7mm).

Why choose an antimicrobial seal?

The silicone is compounded with an antimicrobial additive that inhibits bacteria and mould growth on the seal surface itself. In hospitals, aged care, laboratories, commercial kitchens and food plants - where door edges are touched constantly and wash-downs are routine - this keeps the seal from becoming a microbial harbour between cleans.

What is kerf mounting?

A kerf is a thin saw cut or pre-formed groove. Kerf-mounted seals simply press into that groove - no screws, no adhesive - so they install in seconds and can be replaced just as quickly when they eventually wear.

What is the handling time for this item?

I'm not sure this is the right seal for my door — can I get help?

Yes. Door sealing depends on your door type, the gap sizes and what you need to seal against (fire, smoke, sound, weather or drafts). Call Prime Hardware on 1800 329 028 with your door details and gap measurements and we'll confirm the right Kilargo seal, size and finish before you order.
