KILARGO ANTIMICROBIAL DURABLE SILICONE WIPE SEAL IS1002AMSI-50METRE

The Kilargo IS1002AMsi is an antimicrobial durable silicone wipe seal in a 50-metre roll, kerf-mounted into door rebates or aluminium door stiles. The silicone blade presses into a nominal 3 mm x 5 mm groove (or saw cut) and wipes the closing gap (3–5 mm) against smoke, sound and draughts – with antimicrobial protection in the material itself.

What It's Used For

Use the IS1002AMsi to seal door rebates and stiles in hygiene-critical buildings – hospitals, clinics, aged care, laboratories and food facilities. A simple saw cut in a timber rebate is all the preparation needed.

Its fire test approval also lets it serve on fire-rated doorsets as part of tested systems.

Compliance & What It Means

Antimicrobial silicone. The silicone is compounded with an antimicrobial additive that inhibits the growth of bacteria and mould on the gasket surface. This grade is specified for hygiene-critical environments — hospitals, aged care, medical suites, laboratories, commercial kitchens and food-preparation areas.
Fire tested — AS 1530.4 / AS 1905.1. Fire tested to AS 1530.4 (the Australian standard fire-resistance test) in accordance with AS 1905.1, the standard for fire-rated doorsets. In plain terms: this seal has been proven on proprietary fire door assemblies, so it can be specified on fire doors without compromising the door's fire rating.
Smoke sealing — BCA/NCC Specification C3.4. Conforms with Building Code of Australia (NCC) Specification C3.4 smoke sealing requirements. Smoke — not flame — is the biggest killer in building fires, and C3.4 sets out how door gaps must be sealed so escape routes stay clear of smoke.
Acoustic tested — AS 1191 / ISO 140-3 / ISO 10140-2. Acoustically tested in accordance with AS 1191, ISO 140-3 and ISO 10140-2 — the laboratory standards for measuring sound insulation. Correctly sealed doors are the difference between a quiet room and a noisy one; this seal is proven to cut sound leakage through the door gaps.

Fire and smoke approvals apply to tested, proprietary door assemblies. Always confirm suitability for your specific door type and required rating with your fire door manufacturer or building certifier.

Ordering & dispatch. This is a non-stocked, specialty architectural item ordered directly from the Kilargo factory line. Please allow a standard handling time of 5–8 business days after cleared payment before dispatch. Need it sooner, or not sure which seal suits your door? Call Prime Hardware on 1800 329 028.
Why choose an antimicrobial seal?

The silicone is compounded with an antimicrobial additive that inhibits bacteria and mould growth on the seal surface itself. In hospitals, aged care, laboratories, commercial kitchens and food plants - where door edges are touched constantly and wash-downs are routine - this keeps the seal from becoming a microbial harbour between cleans.

What is kerf mounting?

A kerf is a thin saw cut or pre-formed groove. Kerf-mounted seals simply press into that groove - no screws, no adhesive - so they install in seconds and can be replaced just as quickly when they eventually wear.

Can I use it on a fire door?

Yes - the IS1002 profile is fire tested to AS 1530.4 in accordance with AS 1905.1 on proprietary assemblies. Confirm coverage for your specific doorset with your certifier.

What is the handling time for this item?

I'm not sure this is the right seal for my door — can I get help?

Yes. Door sealing depends on your door type, the gap sizes and what you need to seal against (fire, smoke, sound, weather or drafts). Call Prime Hardware on 1800 329 028 with your door details and gap measurements and we'll confirm the right Kilargo seal, size and finish before you order.
