KILARGO FIRE DOOR BOTTOM UPGRADE SEAL 820-1220MM CLEAR ANODISED
KILARGO FIRE DOOR BOTTOM UPGRADE SEAL 820-1220MM CLEAR ANODISED
The Kilargo FDBU60-45 fire door bottom upgrade seal (clear anodised) lets existing proprietary fire doors with excessive, non-compliant bottom clearances be quickly upgraded – sealing gaps up to 60 mm under nominal 45 mm fire doors, retrofitted without removing the door from its hinges.
Key Features
What It's Used For
Use the FDBU60-45 when a 45mm fire door's bottom clearance has blown out far beyond the AS 1905.1 limit – after floor levelling, carpet removal or door trimming – and the door must return to compliance without replacement.
Add a Kilargo 4000 Series threshold plate for aesthetics or disability compliance, and confirm test coverage with your fire door manufacturer.

Compliance & What It Means
Fire and smoke approvals apply to tested, proprietary door assemblies. Always confirm suitability for your specific door type and required rating with your fire door manufacturer or building certifier.
My fire door is 35mm thick - can I use this?
No - this version suits nominal 45mm fire doors. For 35mm doors order the FDBU60-35, and for gaps under 20mm the more compact FDBU20.
How does an intumescent fire seal work?
The core is an intumescent material that stays inert at normal temperatures. In a fire, the heat makes it expand to many times its original volume, packing the gap between door and frame with an insulating char that blocks flames, heat and hot toxic gases - preserving the doorset's fire rating for its tested duration (up to 2 hours).
Which fire doors is the FDBU60-45 approved for?
It is fully tested to AS 1530.4 for up to 2 hours on proprietary fire door assemblies in accordance with AS 1905.1. Approvals are specific to tested door types - always confirm with your fire door manufacturer or certifier that the seal is covered for your doorset and required rating (FRL).
