The IS4220si is the standard detail for outward-opening exit doors – fire stairs, egress doors and back-of-house exits – where the door bottom must seal against weather, draughts and noise without a seal mounted on the door leaf interfering with panic hardware.

The replaceable silicone bulb (ISRG-4220si) keeps the threshold serviceable for the life of the building.

Why is it called a 'panic' threshold plate?

Because it's designed for emergency egress doors fitted with panic exit hardware. The seal lives in the threshold (the silicone bulb), not on the door leaf, so nothing interferes with the panic bar operation or the door's outward swing.

Can the silicone bulb be replaced when it wears?

Yes - the compression bulb gasket is replaceable (Kilargo ISRG-4220si), so the threshold can be re-gasketed in minutes rather than replaced.

How is the threshold plate fixed down?

Stainless steel fixing screws and plugs are supplied. Alternatively, most Kilargo thresholds can be bedded in builder's adhesive for a concealed fixing. PVC bedding pads (where supplied) go underneath to eliminate vibration, noise and moisture ingress beneath the plate.

What lengths does the IS4220si come in?

Standard lengths are 1000mm and 2250mm, and it can be ordered in 250mm increments from 1000mm to 5000mm. Plates can also be cut down on site for an exact doorway fit.
