The Kilargo IS8100si is a heavy-duty automatic door bottom seal, fully mortised into the bottom edge of single-action doors for a completely concealed finish. Its spring-loaded mechanism lifts the seal clear of the floor as soon as the door opens and drops it to seal gaps of 3–15 mm against fire, smoke, sound, draughts and dust as the door closes.

What It's Used For

The IS8100si is Kilargo's flagship fully mortised drop seal for heavy-duty fire, smoke and acoustic doors – hospital and hotel corridors, apartment entries, theatres, courtrooms and premium commercial fit-outs where nothing may show on the door face.

Because the seal retracts automatically, floor coverings are untouched and door operation stays light enough for accessible doorways. Pair with Kilargo perimeter seals for a complete certified doorset.

How does the IS8100si automatic door bottom seal work?

A spring-loaded mechanism inside the seal lifts the silicone gasket clear of the floor the moment the door opens, so there is no drag or floor wear. As the door closes, an adjustable strike button presses against the door jamb and automatically drops the gasket down onto the floor, sealing the gap under the door.

Is the IS8100si fire and smoke rated?

Yes. It is fire tested to AS 1530.4 in accordance with AS 1905.1 on proprietary fire door assemblies, holds medium-temperature smoke leakage approvals to AS 1530.7 (AS 6905) and conforms with BCA Specification C3.4 smoke sealing requirements. What size floor gap does the IS8100si seal?

It automatically seals door-bottom gaps from 3mm up to 15mm. Measure the gap between the underside of the door leaf and the finished floor when the door is closed - if your gap falls outside this range, call Prime Hardware on 1800 329 028 and we'll recommend an alternative Kilargo seal.

Can the IS8100si be cut down to fit my door width?

Yes. Each standard length can be cut back on site to an exact dimension: 450mm cuts to 275mm, 610mm to 450mm, 820mm to 610mm, 920mm to 610mm, 1070mm to 920mm, 1220mm to 1070mm and 1500mm to 1220mm. Order the standard length that your door width falls within, then trim to suit.

What is the antimicrobial (AM) option?

The IS8100si can be ordered with an antimicrobial silicone gasket. The silicone is compounded with an additive that inhibits bacteria and mould growth on the gasket surface - the version specified for hospitals, aged care, laboratories and food-preparation areas. Select the Anti-Microbial option when ordering.
