The Kilargo IS9070 is a finger guard safety seal that covers the dangerous hinge gap of swinging doors on the hinge-cavity (opening/push) side of the door. Trapped fingers in door hinges cause horrific injuries, especially to young children – the IS9070's flexible gasket closes that void so little fingers can't be drawn in as the door moves. Note: maximum door opening 110° when fitted; not recommended on aluminium door frame systems.

Which side of the door does the IS9070 protect?

on the hinge-cavity (opening/push) side of the door. For protection on both faces of the door, combine the IS9050 or IS9055 (hinge-knuckle side) with the IS9070 (hinge-cavity / push side).

Are finger guards mandatory in childcare centres?

Regulations vary by state, but National Quality Framework assessments and duty-of-care obligations mean finger jam protection is expected on doors accessible to children in childcare and early-learning settings. Finger guards are the accepted control.

Can the gasket be replaced if damaged?

Yes - replacement hinge-side gaskets (ISRG9050 / ISRG9055) are sold per metre, so a damaged guard can be re-gasketed rather than replaced.

Does the IS9070 limit how far the door opens?

Yes - with the IS9070 fitted, hinged doors have a maximum opening of 110 degrees. If your door must open further (or the frames are aluminium), consider the IS9570 ALUmini, which opens to 180 degrees.
