The Kilargo IS9570 ALUmini is a premium gap-filling finger guard that doesn't just cover the hinge gap – it fills it with a circular aluminium profile and retracting fabric, actively ejecting fingers as the door closes. Retrofits in under five minutes, opens to 180°, and takes just 80 mm of space on doors with stiles as narrow as 90 mm.

What It's Used For

The ALUmini is the top-shelf finger protection for childcare centres, schools and educational facilities. Where ordinary guards simply cover the hinge gap, the ALUmini's circular profile and retractable fabric fill the void completely and push fingers clear as the door swings.

Note: Kilargo does not recommend installation on aluminium door frame systems. Door spacers (IS9570 Spacer) are available for thicker 45–54mm doors.

Compliance & What It Means

Finger protection — hinge-side safety. Designed to shield the hinge gap of swinging doors so fingers cannot be drawn in and crushed as the door closes. Finger guards are widely specified (and often required by duty-of-care policies) in childcare centres, kindergartens, schools and aged-care facilities.
Not a fire seal. This product is not a fire-rated seal. It is designed for finger-pinch protection at the door hinge. If your door is a fire door, pair it with (or choose) a Kilargo intumescent fire seal tested to AS 1530.4.

How is the ALUmini different from a standard finger guard?

Standard guards cover the hinge gap with a flexible gasket. The ALUmini fills the gap with a circular aluminium profile and retracting fabric that ejects fingers as the door closes - and it allows a full 180-degree opening where cover-style guards limit doors to about 110 degrees.

How long does installation take?

Under five minutes per door - it retrofits to most doors, including older frames, with the screw fixings supplied. Kilargo does not recommend installation on aluminium door frame systems.

My doors are thicker than 45mm - can I still use it?

Yes - Kilargo IS9570 aluminium door spacers (sold separately, pack of two) adapt the ALUmini to 45-54mm thick doors.
