KILARGO KG5102 TWO PIECE HIGH PERFORMANCE SELFADHESIVE INTUMESCENT FIRE SEAL
KILARGO KG5102 TWO PIECE HIGH PERFORMANCE SELFADHESIVE INTUMESCENT FIRE SEAL
The Kilargo KG5102 is a two-piece, low-profile intumescent perimeter seal set for upgrading existing proprietary fire doors – enabling a clean build-up of non-rated steel frames with only 15 mm stops, in lieu of the conventional 25 mm stops fire doors normally require. Self-adhesive application; up to 2 hours fire resistance.
Key Features
What It's Used For
Use the KG5102 when converting or certifying doors in non-rated steel frames with shallow 15mm stops – common in older commercial buildings – where a standard fire door detail can't be achieved. The two-piece set builds the stop up into a compliant fire-sealing detail.
Combine with a Kilargo Fire Door Bottom Upgrade seal (FDBU20/60) to upgrade doors to comply with AS 1905.1. Confirm test coverage for your door type with Kilargo technical or the door manufacturer.

Compliance & What It Means
Fire and smoke approvals apply to tested, proprietary door assemblies. Always confirm suitability for your specific door type and required rating with your fire door manufacturer or building certifier.
What problem does the KG5102 solve?
Fire doors conventionally need 25mm frame stops. Many existing steel frames only have 15mm stops, which fails certification. The KG5102's two intumescent sections build the 15mm stop into a compliant fire-sealing detail - cleanly and without replacing the frame.
How does an intumescent fire seal work?
The core is an intumescent material that stays inert at normal temperatures. In a fire, the heat makes it expand to many times its original volume, packing the gap between door and frame with an insulating char that blocks flames, heat and hot toxic gases - preserving the doorset's fire rating for its tested duration (up to 2 hours).
Which fire doors is the KG5102 approved for?
It is fully tested to AS 1530.4 for up to 2 hours on proprietary fire door assemblies in accordance with AS 1905.1. Approvals are specific to tested door types - always confirm with your fire door manufacturer or certifier that the seal is covered for your doorset and required rating (FRL).

I'm not sure this is the right seal for my door — can I get help?
