KILARGO KP1504TS RIGID FIRE SEAL WITH SMOKE & ACOUSTIC FIN SEAL
KILARGO KP1504TS RIGID FIRE SEAL WITH SMOKE & ACOUSTIC FIN SEAL
The Kilargo KP1504TS is a rigid intumescent fire seal with centrally located twin smoke & acoustic fins – one rebated seal covering fire and all temperatures of smoke. The sodium-silicate core (in flame-retardant PVC) expands under fire to seal the door perimeter, while the twin fins wipe the closing door daily for smoke and sound control.
Key Features
What It's Used For
Use the KP1504TS on doors that must be both fire doors and smoke doors – corridor, stair and compartment doors in hospitals, hotels, aged care and apartments – with one rebated seal doing both jobs instead of two products.
Pair with a Kilargo automatic door bottom seal to complete the fire/smoke doorset.

Compliance & What It Means
Fire and smoke approvals apply to tested, proprietary door assemblies. Always confirm suitability for your specific door type and required rating with your fire door manufacturer or building certifier.
What do the twin fins on the KP1504TS do?
They wipe against the closing door to seal ambient and medium-temperature smoke and reduce sound transmission - everyday performance the bare intumescent core can't provide until fire heat activates it. One seal, both jobs.
How does an intumescent fire seal work?
The core is an intumescent material that stays inert at normal temperatures. In a fire, the heat makes it expand to many times its original volume, packing the gap between door and frame with an insulating char that blocks flames, heat and hot toxic gases - preserving the doorset's fire rating for its tested duration (up to 2 hours).
How is a rigid KP seal fitted?
It fits into a groove machined in the door edge or frame (sitting flush with the surface) and is held by its aggressive self-adhesive tape backing. Cut to length, peel and press - the PVC casing protects the intumescent core in service.
Which fire doors is the KP1504TS approved for?
It is fully tested to AS 1530.4 for up to 2 hours on proprietary fire door assemblies in accordance with AS 1905.1. Approvals are specific to tested door types - always confirm with your fire door manufacturer or certifier that the seal is covered for your doorset and required rating (FRL).
