KILARGO KP3504TF RIGID PVC ENCASED INTUMESCENT FIRE & SMOKE SEAL

The Kilargo KP3504TF is a rigid PVC-encased intumescent fire & smoke seal with dual offset elastomeric fins, fitted to the bottom of the door as a sweep-type seal. It resists all stages of fire and smoke while delivering excellent acoustics – and because the fins run uninterrupted while the body can be checked around hardware, it's the ideal solution for double-swing pivot door assemblies.

Key Features

Dual offset fins (TF) deliver outstanding smoke AND sound containment
Smoke seal remains uninterrupted while the body is checked for door hardware
Ideal alternative for double-swing pivot fire door assemblies
High-performance intumescent core in rigid PVC casing

Compliance & What It Means

Fire rated — AS 1530.4 / AS 1905.1 (up to 2 hours). Fully tested to AS 1530.4 for up to 2 hours on proprietary fire door assemblies in accordance with AS 1905.1. In a fire, the intumescent core expands to many times its size and seals the gap, blocking flames, heat and hot toxic gases — keeping the door assembly's fire rating intact.
Smoke tested — AS 1530.7 / AS 6905. Holds medium-temperature (200°C) smoke leakage approvals to AS 1530.7, compliant with AS 6905 on proprietary door assemblies. This is the test the BCA relies on for smoke doors — it verifies the seal keeps hot, toxic smoke from leaking past the door for the required 30 minutes.
Smoke sealing — BCA/NCC Specification C3.4. Conforms with Building Code of Australia (NCC) Specification C3.4 smoke sealing requirements. Smoke — not flame — is the biggest killer in building fires, and C3.4 sets out how door gaps must be sealed so escape routes stay clear of smoke.
Acoustic tested — AS 1191 / ISO 140-3 / ISO 10140-2. Acoustically tested in accordance with AS 1191, ISO 140-3 and ISO 10140-2 — the laboratory standards for measuring sound insulation. Correctly sealed doors are the difference between a quiet room and a noisy one; this seal is proven to cut sound leakage through the door gaps.

Fire and smoke approvals apply to tested, proprietary door assemblies. Always confirm suitability for your specific door type and required rating with your fire door manufacturer or building certifier.

Ordering & dispatch. This is a non-stocked, specialty architectural item ordered directly from the Kilargo factory line. Please allow a standard handling time of 5–8 business days after cleared payment before dispatch. Need it sooner, or not sure which seal suits your door? Call Prime Hardware on 1800 329 028.
Why use the KP3504TF instead of an automatic drop seal?

Automatic drop seals need a jamb to strike against, so they can't work on double-swing pivot doors. The KP3504TF's dual fins sweep the floor in both directions of swing while the intumescent body protects the gap in fire - fire, smoke and acoustics in one door bottom seal.

How does an intumescent fire seal work?

The core is an intumescent material that stays inert at normal temperatures. In a fire, the heat makes it expand to many times its original volume, packing the gap between door and frame with an insulating char that blocks flames, heat and hot toxic gases - preserving the doorset's fire rating for its tested duration (up to 2 hours).

Do I need a threshold plate with it?

Kilargo recommends pairing it with a 4000 Series threshold plate so the fins sweep a flat, consistent surface - that combination forms the tested total door bottom solution.

Which fire doors is the KP3504TF approved for?

It is fully tested to AS 1530.4 for up to 2 hours on proprietary fire door assemblies in accordance with AS 1905.1. Approvals are specific to tested door types - always confirm with your fire door manufacturer or certifier that the seal is covered for your doorset and required rating (FRL).

What is the handling time for this item?

I'm not sure this is the right seal for my door — can I get help?
