Frequently Asked Questions
1. What does "AS.1428 Disabled Compliant" mean?
This means the handle meets Australian standards for access and mobility. The "return" design prevents hands from slipping off the end and ensures it can be operated easily, making it suitable for commercial buildings and accessible housing.
2. Can the Duke Return be used on external gates or front doors?
Yes. The handle features a Micronized Finish specifically designed to withstand external conditions. For front doors, we recommend selecting one of the Entrance Set variations.
3. What is included in the Entrance Set?
The Entrance Set is a complete security solution. It includes the Duke Return levers (10050/10090), a 1143 mortice lock, a 7020.2 escutcheon, and a 70mm cylinder (available in Key/Key or Key/Thumbturn configurations).
4. Will this handle twist or become loose over time?
No. The Zanda Duke range utilizes through-door bolts for fixing. This ensures the levers are bolted to each other through the door, preventing the "twist" or sag common in cheaper handles.
5. What is the difference between Key/Key and Key/Turn entrance sets?
The Key/Key set requires a physical key to lock or unlock from both sides. The Key/Turn set allows you to lock or unlock the door from the inside using a thumbturn knob, providing a faster exit in emergencies.
