Zanda Epic Knox Entrance Set – 9139 | Deadbolt, Snib & Passage

Zanda Epic Knox Multi-Function Entrance Set (SKU 9139). Three functions in one lockset — keyed deadbolt with 20mm throw, interior snib lock, and passage mode. 60mm backset. Suits door thickness 35–53mm. Double cylinder included. Available in four finishes. Designed to pair with the Zanda Epic lever handle range.

Why Choose the Zanda Epic Knox?

Most entrance sets do one thing. The Knox does three — all from the same lockset, without compromising on security or convenience. Lock it with a key when leaving. Snib it from inside for peace of mind without needing a key. Leave it unsnibbed for free passage when the home is busy. One lockset covering every scenario your front door faces, every day.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the three functions of the Epic Knox and when do I use each one?

Deadbolt mode — engage the key-operated double cylinder when leaving the home unoccupied. The 20mm throw bolt extends deep into the door frame for maximum security. Snib mode — press the interior snib button when you are home and want security from the outside without needing a key to exit. Simply turn the inside lever to disengage the snib in an emergency. Passage mode — unlock and unsnib the Knox for free access in and out, just like a standard passage set. Ideal when the home is busy, you have tradespeople working, or during entertaining.

What is a 20mm deadbolt throw and why does it matter for security?

The deadbolt throw is the distance the bolt extends from the lock body into the door frame when locked. At 20mm, the Knox bolt seats deeply into the strike plate and door frame — significantly more resistant to forced entry than a standard latch bolt. A longer throw means more material for an intruder to overcome, making it much harder to kick or force the door open. For a front door, a 20mm throw deadbolt is a meaningful security upgrade over a standard latch-only entrance set.

What does double cylinder mean and is it safe?

A double cylinder means the lock requires a key to operate from both the inside and outside — there is no thumbturn on the inside. This prevents an intruder from breaking glass near the door and reaching in to turn a thumbturn. The Knox addresses the safety concern of double cylinders through the snib mode — when snibbed, the inside lever can always be turned to exit in an emergency, so you are never trapped inside. Always keep a key accessible near the door in double cylinder installations for fire safety compliance.

Which Epic lever handles are compatible with the Knox 9139?

The Knox 9139 is designed to pair with the Zanda Epic lever handle range. This includes the Epic lever in Brushed Nickel (BN), Graphite Nickel (GN), Matt Black (BLK), and Satin Brass (SB) — all four Knox finishes correspond directly to Epic lever finishes for a fully coordinated entry door. If you are specifying the Knox for a project, select the matching finish across both the Knox entrance set and your Epic internal levers for a consistent look throughout the home.

What door thickness and backset does the Knox suit?

The Knox suits doors 35–53mm thick with a 60mm backset. The backset is the distance from the edge of the door to the centre of the bore hole. Most standard Australian residential doors fall within this range. If your door is thicker than 53mm or has a different backset, contact our team on 1800 329 028 before ordering to confirm compatibility.

What other hardware do I need to complete my entry door with the Knox?

The Knox 9139 is a complete entrance set — double cylinder is included, so no separate cylinder purchase is required. To complete your entry door you will also need: matching hinges (minimum 3 per door — choose the same finish as the Knox), a door stop to protect the wall and the lockset, and an external pull handle for the outside face of the door if not using a lever on both sides. The Zanda Streamline Pull Handle (7240) or Nitro Pull Handle in a matching finish coordinates well with the Knox across all four available finishes.

Can I see the Epic Knox in person before buying?

Yes — Prime Hardware stocks 6,000+ products on display at our showroom at 2/249 Annangrove Road, Annangrove Sydney 2156. See the Knox across all four finishes in person, handle it alongside the Epic lever range, and get advice from our team on the right configuration for your entry door.
