Are Iver door handles made from solid brass?
Yes. Iver lever handles, door knobs and cabinet hardware are manufactured from solid brass. Solid brass is significantly more durable than zamak (zinc alloy), which is commonly used in lower-cost hardware. It resists corrosion, holds its finish longer and is less prone to cracking under mechanical stress. This is one of the key reasons Iver carries a 10-year mechanical warranty.
What finishes are available in the Iver range?
Iver door hardware is available in 9 finishes: Matte Black, Brushed Chrome, Polished Chrome, Brushed Gold PVD, Polished Nickel, Brushed Nickel, Satin Stainless, Polished Brass and Raw Bronze. PVD-coated finishes (Brushed Chrome, Polished Chrome, Polished Nickel and Brushed Gold PVD) carry a Lifetime Finish Warranty. Living finishes such as Polished Brass and Raw Bronze naturally age and patina over time and are excluded from the finish warranty.
What warranty do Iver products carry?
All Iver products carry a 10-Year Mechanical Warranty in Australia covering defects in materials and workmanship. A Lifetime Finish Warranty applies to Polished Chrome, Brushed Chrome, Polished Nickel and Brushed Gold PVD finishes. Living finishes (Polished Brass, Raw Bronze) are excluded from the finish warranty as they naturally age over time. All products are also covered by Australian Consumer Law.
What is the difference between a round rose, square rose and backplate lever set?
These refer to the plate the lever handle is mounted on. A round rose is a small circular plate that mounts each lever individually — it gives a clean, minimal look that suits contemporary interiors. A square rose is the same concept with a square plate. An oval or shouldered backplate spans both levers with a single elongated plate, covering more of the door face — this suits heritage, transitional and classic interiors. All three formats are available across the Iver range in matching finishes.
What backset do Iver lever sets use?
Iver tubular latches and privacy bolts use a 60mm backset, which is standard for Australian residential door preparation. Iver entrance sets use a euro mortice lock with a 60mm backset and 85mm CTC (centre-to-centre distance between the latch and lock). Always confirm your existing door prep before ordering, particularly on renovation projects where the original preparation may differ.
Does the Iver range include passage sets, privacy sets and entrance sets?
Yes. The Iver range covers all three function types. A passage set includes two lever handles only — the door latches but does not lock, suited to bedrooms, hallways and living areas. A privacy set includes a thumbturn on the inside and emergency release on the outside, suited to bathrooms, ensuites and WCs — it comes with a privacy bolt and tube latch. An entrance set includes a mortice lock, euro cylinder and escutcheon for front and external doors. All three are available across the same Iver handle designs so you can maintain a consistent look throughout your home.
Are Iver handles suitable for external doors?
Iver entrance sets are designed for external door use and include a full mortice lock and cylinder. For coastal or high-humidity environments, Satin Stainless and PVD-coated finishes (Brushed Chrome, Brushed Gold PVD) offer the best corrosion resistance for external applications. If your property is within approximately 1km of the coast or a waterway, we recommend discussing your specific application with our team before ordering.
