Bundle Guide — What Else Do You Need?
A complete door set depends on the door material, the function required and whether it is a double door.
Double doors need flush bolts to secure the inactive leaf. Doors under 2100 mm: a 150 mm bolt top and bottom. Doors 2100 mm and above: a 300 mm bolt top and 150 mm bottom. Flush bolts are available non-lockable or key-lockable.
Hinges — Which One Do You Need?
| Hinge type | Best for | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Ball bearing | Entrance and heavier doors | Bearings reduce friction and wear — best for high-use doors. |
| Fixed pin | Internal and lighter entrance doors | A reliable all-rounder for most internal applications. |
| Loose pin | Internal use — ideal for bathrooms | The pin withdraws so the door lifts off without unscrewing the hinge. |
| Parliament | Doors that must open 180° | Projects the door clear of the frame or architrave so it swings back against the wall. |
Three hinges per door is standard for internal and entrance doors.

What's the difference between Passage, Privacy, Euro and Skeleton Key?
Passage: The latch operates from both sides at all times and does not lock — for bedrooms, living rooms, studies and any door that simply opens and closes. Privacy: Locks from the inside with a snib or turn, with an emergency release outside — for bathrooms, ensuites and bedrooms. Euro: Takes a euro-profile cylinder and is key-lockable — for entrance doors and any door you want to lock with a key. Skeleton Key: A traditional lock operated by a skeleton (lever) key — suits heritage and period doors.
What is included in the box?
A pair of handles on backplates, the spindle and fixing screws, plus the latch or lock for the function you select. Hinges and flush bolts are not included.
Which hinges do I need?
Ball bearing for entrance and heavier doors (reduces friction and wear); fixed pin for internal and lighter entrance doors; loose pin for internal use, ideal for bathrooms since the door can be lifted off in an emergency. Use 3 hinges per door as a general rule.
Do I need flush bolts?
Only on double doors, to secure the inactive leaf. Under 2100 mm: 150 mm bolts top and bottom. 2100 mm and above: a 300 mm bolt top and 150 mm bottom. Flush bolts are available non-lockable or key-lockable.
